At age 18, Mike Cohen (@mrmikecohen) was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukaemia. A few years later, Mike won his battle with cancer, however as a result of all the radiation and chemotherapy treatments, his heart was damaged. In his early 30’s he suffered from a heart attack. Mike needed a heart transplant.

On February 21, 2018, 32 year old James Mazzuchelli, a Navy flight surgeon, was killed in a helicopter training accident. Because of James’s selfless decision to donate his organs, he saved Mike’s life. The very next year, Mike cycled 1426 miles from San Diego, California to Jackson, Florida to meet James’s family. This is an absolutely amazing story, and we’re so grateful to Mike for sharing it with us. Full episode here, or wherever you get your podcasts.
