#EverySingleStreet | Sugar Land, TX
Over the course the past couple years I had not given too much thought into this type of project. In December of 2018 this is when fellow ultrarunner, Rickey Gates, ran his entire city of San Francisco in this manner and basically coined the hashtag and brought all the hype to this type of exploring ones city or local area.
In November of 2019 I came across something that sparked and renewed my interest into the #EverySingleStreet idea again. I had stumbled across a website called CityStides.com. And just like this the project idea was in my head. It was super simple I just gave the website access to STRAVA and all my data auto synced over. I had randomly completed 8.22% of my city of Sugar Land, Texas since moving here just over year ago.
I somewhat focused on running every single street during my training. I did not set out an all out assault on this project but a casual go as you please pace to getting it done. I progressed slow and steady over the next few months.
I did a slightly more in depth write up and story over on my ultrarunningdad blog. Feel free to check it out here: https://trevormeding.blogspot.com/2020/04/every-single-street-sugar-land-tx.html
Rickey Gates has done a lot of podcasts and interviews based on the original project he did (I have a bunch listed on my blog post). Thank you Rickey for the inspiration. If anyone every wants to explore their own city and learn about your local community, neighborhoods, etc. I highly recommend exploring on your own feet at your own pace.
