FAQ

How does content get featured on Prokit?
If you come across a story or collection you think we should feature, send us an email at tips@theprokit.com with a link to the content. Or, flag it to us on Twitter by posting the content and including (tip @theprokit) at the end of your tweet.

We look for original, authentic articles, reviews, race reports, podcasts and videos that bring unique insights to the Prokit community. To maintain high quality standards, we will only feature full articles that are not simply trying to redirect people to another website.

We’d love your help finding content that has fallen through the cracks, whether it’s written by you or someone else!

How do athletes get featured on the search page?
We will rotate the featured athletes on our athlete page. We are looking for athletes, coaches and people who are positive role models in the Prokit community and are creating high quality content and advise that is helping others reach their potential.

Events

Adding an Event to your profile is an easy way to highlight your races, adventures, epic climbs or camps.

Add past or upcoming events to your profile, choose a photo, @ mention a friend you were with and that’s it. Then go check out the profiles of your training partners or friends to join them or cheer on their next adventure!

If you don’t see your event or we have made a mistake, please submit your event. We will review it as quickly as possible, and it will likely be a few days before you see it in our database. If you don’t see the correct year for your event, that’s okay, select it and then you can change the date.

Collections

A Collection is simple way for you save links you find from around the web.

Researching how to train for a big race? Create a Collection, give it a title and save links to articles, products, podcasts and videos that will help you get to the starting line. Planning your next big adventure, researching how to recover from an injury, or looking for the perfect new bike? Create a Collection with all the links you don’t want to forget.

Maybe you like to do your research or planning in private. Simply turn the toggle to Private. You can always change it later if you want to share it with a friend.

A few examples: nutritionist Anne Guzman’s Performance Hub; Prokit’s Angela Zaeh’s gear list for trail and ultra running; cycling brand Ornot’s collection of product reviews, and David Swain’s tips on stretching for cyclists

Posts and Race Reports

A post can be anything you want to share with a community of athletes and people interested in health, adventure and the outdoors. When you create a post, you’ll land on an empty page where you can get start writing and/or add videos, podcasts or other content formats. A few tips:

  • Check out this video tutorial that explains the tools for editing content, adding links to videos, and everything else you need to know.
  • Remember to include a short 1-2 sentence Excerpt in the menu on the right to help people know what your Post is about, and add a “Featured Image” which will be become the cover photo for your post.
  • Select the post format so we know whether to display it as video, audio or a standard post.

Race Reports are just like posts but are specific to an event, race or adventure. They are meant to capture things you learned or want to remember from the experience — anything from training and nutrition to course reports, gear insights, logistical info and memories from the people you were with. Share your report as pre-race insights, or learnings after you finish. Podcast, video, text – whatever format tells your story! One tip:

  • After you’ve written your race report, go to that Event on your profile, click the three dots to edit, and at the bottom you’ll see the ability to select your Post. Now it will be featured alongside your Event.

Services

Services are a simple way for professionals and people who support the athletic community to showcase their products, services or expertise. These can be anything from camps, coaching and training plans to advise and consultations with nutritionists, trainers or other experts. To turn on Services, go to your profile, click “edit profile,” and then check the box to add services. Now go back to your profile and you’ll see a box to add a service.

Please remember that Prokit does not verify or endorse the services offered on our platform.
