Why It’s Ok to like your Rival

Today I will be talking about why it is completely ok in my mind to like your rival sports team and three reasons why.

Players

The first reason it is completely ok to like your rival sports team is that maybe they have a player that you love and because of him you like the team. For example, I live near San Francisco and my favorite team is the 49ers, but one of my favorite players in the NFL is Russel Wilson so I also like the Seahawks. The Seahawks and the 49ers have a pretty big rivalry so everyone is always asking why I like the Seahawks and saying that it is dumb but it just isn’t. There is no reason not to like them. I also really like the Saints because of Drew Brees, Michale Thomas, and Marshon Latimore, but everyone is always asking why I like the Saints and not just the 49ers. There is no reason not to like multiple teams.

Uniforms

Another reason I like the Seahawks is because of their Color Rush Uniforms, they are super cool and it makes me want to watch and like them. Again everyone just says it’s dumb to like a team other than the 49ers and that just isn’t true. Why can’t you? It doesn’t matter at all, just because I like a second team doesn’t mean I don’t like the original team that everyone thinks I should like.

Why Not?

There is absolutely no reason not to like a team other than the one you live right next to. Why can’t someone who lives in New York like the Red Sox? It just doesn’t make sense, they should be able to. Also, why cant a Packers fan like the Bears, there is just no reason at all. It is completely your opinion and you should totally be able to like two teams without being called dumb.

What do you think? Are there any real reasons?
